Redlands chaplains want bumper prayer breakfast turn out

Residents are encouraged to purchase tickets for this year’s Redland City Mayoral Prayer Breakfast being held at the Redlands Sporting Club on Friday 28 August in order to support programs like the Favoured Girls initiative at Vienna Woods State School.

School children at 18 local schools have benefited from chaplaincy school programs like Favoured Girls thanks to $13,000 raised at last year’s prayer breakfast.

Vienna State School Chaplain Carol Cock said all chaplaincy programs supported students’ well-being, with her Favoured Girls initiative assisting Grade 6 girls overcome self-esteem and body image concerns. After this program, the girls decided to continue catching up three times a term, so forged important friendships as well.

Tickets for this year’s event cost $55 each or $500 for a table of 10 and can be purchased online at www.redland.qld.gov.au/events or by calling 3829 8131. Alternatively, you can pick them up in person from the RPAC box office, 2-16 Middle Street, Cleveland.
