Events, festivals and more in October

The Redland Bayside Blues Festival comes to Capalaba Regional Park Saturday 15 October from 12 noon. A family day of music, food and markets with gold coin entry donations supporting Rotary Club of Capalaba projects. Program details are available on the festival website.

The following day, Sunday 16 October sees the perfect combination of Cars and Coffee at Sirromet Winery, Mount Cotton for car and bike enthusiasts to come together. Held on the third Sunday of each month.

It’s not too early to get organised for Christmas. If you’re seeking a special handcrafted gift or treasure for your own home, check out the Twilight Makers Market from 4pm at Raby Bay Harbour on Friday 22 October. The markets feature more than 65 handmade and creative stalls, gourmet treats, street food and children’s activities.

For an added twist, the October Twilight Makers Markets, are joined by PokéFest 2.0. From 4pm Saturday 22 October, everyone can enjoy catching Pokémon and battling at the Cleveland Train Station Gym. It’s a night for the whole family not to be missed.

Don’t miss the 33rd annual Straddie Assault – Australia’s longest running teams surfing competition taking place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October at Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island.

For ballet lovers, don’t miss the magnificent Russian National Ballet Theatre production of Swan Lake at Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC), Cleveland on Wednesday 27 October. Tickets available on the RPAC website.

To end the month, those adventuring to Straddie can enjoy the finest of reggae, soul and bass music in the Pacific region and beyond.at Island Vibe at Point Lookout from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 October. Ticketing details on the Island Vibe website.
