Drought declaration

The drought has closed in on South East Queensland with eight local government areas, including Redland City Council, being drought-declared by the Queensland Government, effective from 1 December 2019.

Drought declarations are based on a number of factors including significant lack of rain, depleted pasture reserves and escalating concerns about agricultural water supply.
