Parents can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to Council’s jam-packed summer holiday program set to keep kids entertained over December and January.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said that Council’s extensive range of free activities would engage and inspire kids of all ages.
“From art and craft to reptile shows to robotics, there’s something on to entertain everyone,” she said.
“Highlights include a performance at Cleveland and Capalaba libraries by Julia Baker, snake catcher and star of Discovery’s hit series Snake Boss, who will bring along some of her reptile friends.
“For our budding artists there’s some great creative activities involving augmented reality and other unique methods to help you create your very own masterpieces to take home.
“Redland Libraries also runs the Summer Reading Club program, offering a range of interactive activities available in the libraries and online to encourage children pre-school age and up to continue reading over the extended summer holiday period so kids don’t fall behind.
“Summer Reading Club members can also meet and blog with authors and illustrators online and get some great creative tips.
“Redland Libraries, Redland Art Gallery and Redlands IndigiScapes Centre are also great community venues where you can always enjoy a free family day out.
“Some activities do require bookings and fill quickly so make sure you check out Council’s website or Library webpage for a full list of activities and their dates,” she said.
Summer reading club runs until 31 January 2019. Visit the Summer Reading Club website for more for details.
