Planned burn at Alexandra Hills: Thursday 28 May

Our Conservation Fire Management team are undertaking a planned burn today in the Greater Glider Conservation Area at Alexandra Hills.

Location/ size: 250 Redland Bay Road, Alexandra Hills. The burn is approximately 7.5 hectares in size and is for hazard reduction and ecological purposes.

Smoke dispersal: Smoke may affect some areas near the burn site but this will be minimal.

Notifications: Notification letters have been delivered to surrounding residents. The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services – QFEScommunications centre has been notified and fire crews will remain on site until the fire is safe.

Wildlife: Conservation staff will sweep the burn site prior to ignition, and will continue to monitor the situation to ensure all protected fauna are clear of the impact zone.
