“Yurara Art Gallery’s Back to the Future tells the history of this group and how it has contributed to the arts in Redlands for more than 50 years since its establishment in 1962,” Cr Hewlett said.

“We see the evolution of this group and how it has grown from small beginnings to its current membership of more than 100 artists.

“The Redlands Creative Alliance also plays an important role in connecting artists with the wider community, including businesses, to promote cultural opportunities.”

“Their exhibition Linkages: sky/air – earth/land – sea/water showcases a selection of works that express the group’s link to the natural environment around them.

“The joint display of these exhibitions is an opportunity to not only see some wonderful artworks, but also acknowledge the strong networks these groups have created and their positive role in promoting arts in Redland City.”

The exhibitions will be celebrated at an opening event from 6pm on Friday 28 November 2014, Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland. To attend, RSVP acceptances by Wednesday 26 November 2014 to (07) 3030 4163 or email [email protected].

Artist floor talks and morning tea for both exhibitions will also be from 11.30am Sunday 30 November 2014.
