Redlitzer Junior Short Story Competition

Entries now open

Redland Libraries ‘Redlitzer Junior Short Story Competition’ is now open for entries of any genre up to 1000 words. There are two age categories: 10 – 11 years and 12 – 14 years. All shortlisted entrants receive a $50 book voucher and a place at the Redlitzer Writers’ Day to work on their manuscript with award-winning author Angela Sunde. Five shortlisted entries from each category will also be published in a special edition anthology. Entries close Saturday 31 May 2014. For entry conditions and information, visit our website or phone 3829 8779.

Koala Community Planting

Join us for our annual Koala Community Planting, as we put 1000 plants in the ground to expand a creek corridor in Redland Bay. Stay afterwards for a sausage sizzle and take home a free native plant.

Where: Moogurrapum Creek Corridor, Main St, Redland Bay
Bring: Enclosed shoes, sun protection and drinking water
Provided: Plants, equipment, sunscreen, gloves and sausage sizzle

Get wielding the whipper snipper! We are reading water meters in Capalaba CBD, Ormiston, North Stradbroke, Perulpa, Lamb, Karragarra, Macleay and Russell islands this week. Please make sure meter readers have clear access to your water meter.
