Christmas by Starlight continues

The Christmas by Starlight Concert at Redland Showgrounds is continuing after an incident this afternoon involving a Lion’s food vendor van.

Two people were injured. A 67 year old woman has been taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with partial thickness burns to the legs, arms and hands.

A 55 year old man has been taken to Redland Hospital with superficial burns to the lower legs.

The incident took place at about 4pm and all emergency services were contacted immediately and acted quickly.

Trained emergency response personnel were on duty at the event and have assessed the scene to allow the event to continue.

The incident involved a fire within a Lion’s food vendor van.

Redland City Council is working with emergency services and places the safety of our community and workers as its highest priority.

The site area where the incident occurred has been isolated with access restricted.

Further information will be provided by emergency services.
