Walk, talk and shape the future of Redlands parks and open spaces

Redland City Council is asking every-one to contribute to the finalisation of the Redland Open Space Strategy by attending a ‘Walk and Talk’ day this weekend.

The Redland Open Space Strategy will form the ‘blueprint’ for neighbourhood parks and open spaces for the next 14 years, and attending one of our special ‘Walk and Talk’ days is the latest way for you to provide feedback.

Invite your friends and family, head to a local ‘Walk and Talk’ meeting point and share your ideas on the Redlands’ open spaces! You can join Council officers for a guided walk or follow your own favourite trail and provide feedback via a Heart Foundation walking checklist. Have a free coffee and chat about your ideas for local parks, while the kids enjoy the free art activity table.

You can also sign up to join a Heart Foundation walking group to go for regular walks with friendly people in your area.

Visit one of the following Redland City Council ‘Walk and Talk’ checkpoints to join in and have your say.
Saturday 16 June: 9am – 12noon, Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre (inside the shopping centre) 1pm – 4pm, Wellington Point Village, Main Street (footpath outside shops)

Sunday 17 June: 9am – 12 noon, Cleveland Library Square, Cleveland 1pm – 4pm, Pelicans Nest Shopping Centre, Colburn Avenue (near post office)

Other ways of getting involved include viewing and commenting on the strategy online, joining a focus group or completing a walkability checklist for your area. The strategy can also be viewed at Council Libraries and Customer Service Centers.
