Jobs and tourism dollars on offer through Toondah

Dining with friends at ClevelandNew research by travel and tourism advisory group EarthCheck has found revitalising Toondah Harbour will encourage 50,000 additional visitors to the Redlands each year and an extra $21 million in visitor expenditure.

The new tourism statistics come as preferred developer Walker Group begins discussions with the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation to develop a compelling, unique tourism offering at Toondah Harbour that complements the bay and North Stradbroke Island. Opportunities being explored include an Indigenous eco-cultural centre at the site.

Research has also shown the estimated jump in visitor expenditure will support 273 direct and 241 indirect full-time-equivalent jobs each year. This is on top of the 1000 construction-related jobs the $1.3 billion mixed-use marina development will support each year and its 500 direct jobs.
